Seminar Print Competition Rules
Seminar print competition shall consist of up to and no more than three (3) image entries, sized as an 8x10 @ 250dpi, submitted digitally to the seminar chairman, APPA Secretary, or the President, by a date no less than 14 days prior to the seminar date. All entries will be distributed to a panel of 3-5 anonymous judges comprised of professional photographers familiar with the criteria of print judging, that are not members of the APPA, or who will not be participating in the competition. Subject matter shall be open with the exception of nudity.

Each judge shall make their decisions and return these decisons back to the seminar chairman, APPA Secretary, or APPA President within 7 days after receiving them. Judges will be ask to base their opinions on the 12 elements of a merit print for educational purposes only and may include their suggestions on how to improve the image, however prints entered into the seminar competition will not be eligible for PPA merit.
First, second, and third place awards will be given to the top three overall high scores, as well as honorable mention and judges choice certificates the latter depending on the amount of judges on the panel.
In the event of a tie score, each entry involved will be re-submitted to the judges panel in order to determine a winner.
Due to a short time frame for judging, ALL entries MUST be received no later than 14 days prior to the opening date of the seminar to be included in the competition.
